- RRC has a community project to spread information about better fishing practices in Cairns. A sustainable coastline is another way for us all to be Collaborating for Community Resiliency. We are looking for a belt-hole-puncher and grommets (3-5mm)~ will take boots, shoes, bags n belts etc that have them.
- Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) is running a project called ‘Bike Mob’which is aimed at engaging with ‘at risk’ young people in healthy constructive activities around repairing bikes to which they can keep. We are looking for donations of second hand bikes in reasonable working order. BMX’s and Mountain Bikes to suit 12-20 year olds are highly desired.*Reasonable working order
*Intact straight frames and wheels, surface rust ok
*Functioning Gears; things like broken cables and rusty chains are fine and easy to fix
*Repairable brakes; brakes that might need new cables, callipers or pads.Please note: We are not bike recyclers, if the bike you have in mind is more suitable for the tip we would gratefully appreciate it if you contact Char as to source.possible alternative ways to give it a home.
